Recently I took a Honda Shine without disc brakes. In the future is there any possibility that I can get disc braked placed externally. If yes, then give me some details cost etc.

I'm looking to buy a safe car with good breaking and I was wondering what the difference between these are:
1) Power-Assisted Ventilated Disc Breaks
2) Drum Brakes
3) Solid Disc Brakes
Thanks a lot.

I have a 2001 Toyota Celica GT and would like to convert the rear drum brakes to disc brakes. I really don't have the time to do the work myself, so I would have to ask a mechanic to do it. I had a friend (who moved) that said he could use the brake system from a GTS model which had 4 disc brakes.

I am surprised to see that certain cars and trucks still come with rear drum brakes in this day and age.
I suppose they are cheaper, but do they also have other advantages over disc brakes?
